Mepis Rumors
Posted on April 21st, 2008 at 2:42 pmFirst let me state that in no way do I represent Mepis or Warren in any way shape or form, with that said. Is Mepis going away? No, the releases have been slow do a thing called work and unless Warren does that he has a problem paying bills eating and stuff like that. So he gets a pass on that or he should. If I remember there was mention of a release towards the end of this month, and from what has been said there could be alphas showing up around that time period. So folks don’t panic Warren puts out a great distro that is both easy for the noob and a breeze to tweak for the more jaded users. Take a look at Unbuntu yes they release 4 times a year and when you visit the forums the one line you see a lot is” darn this or that worked fine in Mepis” , getting a clue here yet folks, a little patience and what you get is a easy to install, upgrade, and use distro that is popular no matter what DistroWatch ranks it at. So hang in there folks stop the needless whining and the new Mepis will be out before you know it.
