More Coming

Posted on January 7th, 2010 at 8:35 am

Okay for goodness sake enough is enough! With only 5″ of snow on the ground this is all the new stuff over night and with 12 hours more to come there should be a great mess by morning when the high winds hit.

And for those you have asked the can is full of BBQ stuff, such as wood chips and racks. Not very useful about now.

Getting Started with Arch Linux

Posted on January 2nd, 2010 at 9:06 am

We recently asked readers for requests on new articles you’d like to see (and thanks for all the great ideas!). One such request was a beginner’s guide to Arch Linux. As a Linux distro addict, I’ve heard of Arch many times over the years but for some reason, I’d never actually given it a shot. In particular, one aspect that’s always interested me has been Arch’s homegrown package management system, pacman. Today we’ll be finding out what Arch is all about, how to use it, and what makes it special.

Okay folks here is a simple, non techy  walk thru for you to install Arch with screen shots! Have fun folks, Baldy

Well as the saying goes all good things must come to a end. Even thought my mental stability was questioned about the fact that I was going to leave sunny and 75° weather to return to a really different end of the spectrum. But what can I say folks have been saying I am crazy for years. But I have to say I have figured out why there are so many snowbirds up in this area. I have to say thanks to Leo and Linda for the hospitaility they showed me once again this year and To Desi, and Donald (even if he did get my car), and Troy. And way to many others that I have not mentioned. And last but not least by any measure a big thanks to Raven and Slick for their ability to make a person feel as if they are part of the family. Even of Raven is one of the worse tour guides I know of, but she is great at finding Computer stores and Big Lots.LOL

But to one and all have a great and safe Christmas( yes not holiday I don’t mind be politically incorrect) and a even better News Years. So until later have a good days and a better tomorrow folks.

And a couple I should not forget is Nadine and Roblee for the find meal they offered and to the fun I had at their place.

PS: Okay we had freezing rain all night and this morning, with snow on the way. Maybe I am a moron for coming back.

Heading to La

Posted on December 18th, 2009 at 7:11 am

Well the weather has been wet and cold so today it warms up and sunny so we are heading for even better weather and great food in LA today. Houston is a normal large city with all the good and bad that comes with large cities. But it is fun with all the food and the views of life in a southern city. I will try and post again soon to see. Have good day folks.

Email Failure

Posted on December 11th, 2009 at 6:47 am

Heck we made it through a darn blizzard and mediacom is having major problems as there has been no email for over 30 hours and when you call them you get a nice message saying we have a problem with the email and are working on it and hope to have it repaired soon! Hell my clients would have dumped me if I couldn’t resolve a mail problem, and I know they have a lot more help than me.Thanks Mediacom keep up the fine work
